Senior Planet: Redefining Aging in the Digital Age | Poolesville Seniors

Come meet Senior Planet in Montgomery, an organization which works to empower seniors and to change the way we age. Senior Planet is the flagship program of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS). OATS mission is to help seniors harness technology. Through Poolesville Seniors, Senior Planet would like to bring classes to enable us to harness technology and change the way we age. On Wednesday, December 10th come hear from the instructors who will bring these classes to our area. Discover more about this organization and how the instructors want to help you understand and work with technology. Give input as to what you would like to see in the way of those classes.

Senior Planet in Montgomery, a technology training program designed for County learners 50 and older, offers free classes that focus on technology and how it can empower the way we age. Classes are offered at many locations around the county. Classes are offered in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Mandarin.

The program is supported by the County’s Department of Technology Service in partnership with nonprofit OATS (Older Adults Technology Services). The County’s Department of Recreation and Montgomery County Public Libraries also are partners in helping provide the classes at no charge to participants.

Sessions concentrate on user-friendly tools and resources and are designed to enable older adults to learn to utilize technologies to improve their daily lives. Senior Planet in Montgomery utilizes curricula created by OATS, which also provides training staff and works with numerous County departments to identify topics of interest for Montgomery residents.
